Rookie Zay Flowers has been the best WR at Ravens training camp!*

Rashod Bateman and OBJ are still working their way back from injury.

Bateman is still returning from injury. OBJ is more learning the playbook and taking things slow in minicamps because he's 30-plus year old vet with a history of knee injuries. Flowers is the only one of the three that has been showing up daily, which makes sense as he's an uninjured rookie.

Supposedly the whole team has been taking things slow. Probably out of abundance of caution with 50% of their starters returning from season ending injury within the past two years. With this approach there is sure to be no set backs or new key injuries for this year's Ravens.

That's not what he said.

A one-year contract wasn’t what he was looking for but probably what he needed.

“I’m thinking like this is my last year,” Beckham says. “I’m going to give it my all this year. And then if something happens after that, we can go from there.

He's on a one year contract so he's going to play as hard as he can like it were his last year in the league. Boilerplate old guy stuff.

The largest WR contract handed out this offseason was Hopkins for 1 year $13m

Because the good ones weren't on the market, just like RB's.

If Josh Jacobs was just available as a FA this offseason, you really don't think a team would offer him say, 2 years $30m? That's less then Hunter Renfrow money.

How soon we forget OBJ getting plucked from the couch for $15 Million (up to $18 with incentives.)

It was a play to help reel in Lamar and a reflection of how desperate the Ravens were to improve their receiving corp. Still an absurd overpay for a WR that would be drat lucky to hit 800 yards this year.

Pretty close to what Marlon Humphrey got. That's kind of surprising considering Humphrey signed his deal two years ago.

Houston is a good add for Carolina even though he's getting pretty old imo

Houston is a strange one. This is the third straight year he should be cooked with nothing left in the tank. The previous two years he was the Ravens best pass rusher by far. Probably top 30 in the NFL.

7 million is a great price for rolling the dice that Houston beats father time again. Though you probably want to keep his snap count low.

Like yeah, he didn't make plays, but not many dudes are doing much of anything when you give up immediate pressure like that.

In theory, the Texans have invested a lot in their line. Tunsil and Shaq Mason as vets. 1st round sophomore guard and a 2nd round rookie center. It always feels difficult to assess O-lines and secondaries from preseason play. Still, a bad look to get your new face of the franchise beat to hell in his first NFL snaps.

Okay. It seems like they only played Stroud through half of the 1st quarter too. I guess it makes some sense to give the rookie a small taste of NFL competition before week 1.

Overthecap has Clowney on a one year contract worth 2.5 million. That would be an obscenely good deal so I suspect that's a placeholder for something while the real info comes in.

12 million more than what Andrews got 2 years ago. The Ravens are paying top dollar for a lot of their folks but they got a great deal on Andrews.

The episodes (is that the right term for a podcast?) of the Athletic podcast without Nate Tice are good, depending on the guests. Mina Kimes similarly depending on the guest and topic. Weirdly the Bill Barnwell Podcast is high quality, but only when he has on one of Robert Mays, Mina Kimes, or Dominque Foxworth, which admittedly happens a lot.
