Sometimes you see someone honored by being given the "key(s) to the city" and I'm just mystified by what this key or keys are for. Can you use them to open anything?

If you click the keyfob attached to the keys of the city, it locks all of the buildings. Neat trick, if you hold down the unlock button for 5 seconds, it lowers all the windows of the building automatically.
