California actually rules. Well except for the fires. And the earthquakes. And the horrendous cost of living. Other than that, it's pretty sweet! My point of reference is growing up in Tennessee though so I'm sure there are better places out there. Places with universal health care and free education. Magical lands of fairies and unicorns I've heard tell. California does have it's share of fairies though. After all it's the land of FRUIT and NUTS!!

Hi I’m a gbs imbecile in the various country-themed threads who thinks the inherent contradictions in geopolitical rival states like China, Russia, Iran, Cuba etc will cause them to collapse before the United States.

International public opinion of the United States remains positive, so while we are a bunch of dumb assholes in the USA, the rest of the world is somehow even dumber.

a lot of other cool sci fi too

pretty good fiction and music output in general, even if it has been tarnished by our pop culture deteriorating under late stage capitalism

They also provided plenty of the backbone of the nazi war machine too, though.

There is nothing that can be done to save or make better the mental health issues brought upon the 300+ million Americans (and people who live in American adjacent countries) by the destruction of normal social institutions and healthy human interaction by the implementation of the car-centric suburban sprawl that made up the us by the end of the 1960s and 70s. People born in America are doomed to be inable to properly interact with each other socially, suffer from a myriad of mental-health benefits; from depression to ADHD and beyond; all due to the destruction of normal natural human interactions of public social spaces, and it's replacement with the "Drive Everywhere" model.
