Any word on this new booster juice trickling it's way down to Australia? Last booster I had was in October, I went to get a new one in April and they refused to give it to me. 5 jabs is enough, apparently.

just went to my gp to get an update on a prescription. of course, as you'd expect, i'm the only masked person there. i go into the doctor's room and he asked if i'm sick (becasue of the mask). i said no, just being cautious in a place with sick people. he then said, ah good idea, then pulls out a ratty and brown n95 from under the papers on his desk

lmao, lol etc

good idea, indeed, doc

just realised i can now eat in a sip valve + aura by stuffing pretzel sticks through the straw hole. this has completely changed my airplane masking skill set. i will see how this new discovery plays out in 2-3 days, but it was an exciting thing to work out and made the flight a lot more fun.

just an fyi for all of my sip valve brethren out there. pretzel sticks, get into it

as someone that’s admittedly less militant about masks than the rest of this thread, I will still never, ever, ever understand why medical facilities ever dropped their mask mandates

that’s, like, the most likely place that someone there will be sick!!! and not even necessarily with COVID, just with…well, anything!!!

studies have said that wearing masks CAN BE DANGEROUS

i just returned home from another flight and was stuffing pretzel sticks into my feeding hole/sip mask valve the entire flight. this is a game changer for aeroplane safety and feeding tbh. such freedom, it’s incredible lmao

Any Australian goons have recommendations for pharmacies in Melbourne that won't kick up a fuss about getting the updated shot "too soon"?

I just got turned away by my local, because I've had 6 shots already, and the last one was the old version of Novavax in November. I tried explaining that I had never had the bivalent and wanted the new updated ones to get some immunity to something slightly more recent. But no deal, it has to be 6 months between shots; Because gently caress you, get sick.

I guess on the potential plus side: by the time they deem me eligible again we might have the new Novavax available here?

same issue in brisbane, i’m not having any luck either. i’ve had 5, last one was in October 2022, but they just won’t give me the juice. i’d like an update before i go back to the office in a couple of weeks so I’m running on all titers. it’s ridiculous

What reason is being given? The government's recommendation changed a long time ago and everyone is eligible for a 2023 dose, into 2024 if need be.

“not recommended” since i’m not immune compromised, or over 65. i do argue that it’s all changed since 2022 but they always dig their heels in. this is with the larger chain pharmacies, maybe the smaller independent ones might be better
