Letting your eyes adjust to dust and crap is good practice for when your eyes need to adjust to cracks and blisters as you use the same glasses for 10 years because "I don't want to look different" or more americanly "I lost my vision coverage."

I spent the first year wearing glasses finding every opportunity for calling out how far something was away because I could finally resolve depth. Not full on astigmatism which I guess causes full on 2d vision without corrections, but a lack of resolution at distance to do anything besides "guess" how far something is.

I'm juggling the idea that I might need readers to read my phone or play my Nintendo in a more comfortable position with the idea that I should still have a few years to go before presbyopia.
