Philly, New England, and Dallas were 1,2, and 3 in sack rate last year. They might need that early bye to get Wilson ready to play week 8.

I could easily see some Kellen Moore or Eric Bienemy coaching the Jets next year if Rodgers doesn't survive that murderers row of pass rushes.

I get letting a guy try and save his job, but Staley is so obviously a bad coach I don't see how you let him coach out the year.

Kellen Moore is gonna be fielding HC offers. At least give yourselves a shot to keep him and Herbert together.

Chargers gonna charger and hire Gregg Williams or some poo poo.

What are the chances that the Pats fire Belichick and end up in the better situation coaching wise? 0.00000001%?

I'd hire Belicheck if I owned the Chargers or Cowboys.

Hell, Jerry already let Parcells rebuild the team once.

Mark Davis purely operating from a fan's perspective of "why the gently caress would anyone watch this team" is probably all the logic we need.

He's definitely a bad owner, but at least he's trying to steer the ship towards entertaining.

Just extended coaches can still get fired.

And you actually believe one of those is going to be Bill belichick

No? I just don't think coaches get special consideration because they're still owed money. Even when it's a lot of money.

If Belichick some how loses the locker room, he'll get fired. Just like with every other coach who gets ejected mid season.

A "mutual parting of ways" in the off season seems at least possible.

Bieniemy can't even get an interim job

I wonder if some coaches are holding onto their jobs because owners might be inclined to go all-in on Belichick if he becomes available, and not to complicate things with a successful interim head coach.

Reich, Rivera, Eberflus, and Staley's in-season firings are all justifiable. Mark Davis, at least, owned his failures by firing McDaniels.

Tepper is gonna be stuck with a Lovie Smith or Dave Culley type HC if he's that out in the open toxic. Why put your career in the hands of a rich toddler if you're an actual talent?

The Commanders were never in sole control of their destiny despite the competence, vision and sanity emanating from the ownership group led by managing partner Josh Harris. They inhabit a world where other masters-of-the-universe types have agendas. The Commanders already conquered competitors in the general manager market by landing Peters. Like it or not, those other organizations would have their day.
