It is well known that when humans began to cook food, our brains got bigger. We're evolved to eat cooked meat. It tastes better and it's better for you. It stands to reason when you eat sushi containing uncooked meat, your brain gets smaller. (The tempura stuff is just ok at best, regardless.)

While I acknowledge that rice is a staple food critical to the development of many cultures, plain white rice is stinky doodoo akin to eating to eating little rubbery balls of semi dry glue, and most rice is in fact only tolerable based on the seasonings added to it. Maybe they should make the rolls with fried rice, or even better, french fries? Potato is the far superior staple carb.

Alright, I'm no longer on smugworth's side of the sushi argument. White rice is great. We eat rice about 4 or 5 nights of the week.

white rice is tolerable as part of sushi but i've gotten into eating brown rice and it is like bread, once you are used to brown rice the white stuff tastes of nothing

I find that regular water doesn't keep nori sheets together all that well. Earwax, on the other hand, does. The umami flavor is a nice extra.
