Another beautiful film by Yasujirō Ozu, taking a look at a normal family in post-WWII Japanese. It's about a young woman being culturally expected to marry as the norms are slowly shifting. The framing of every shot is immaculate. The characters are well realized, subdued and powerful. In typical Ozu fashion, the camera shots are low, warm, and personal. If you find the film boring, wait a few years and try again.
