My favorite way to find cool new songs I listen to a lot is to find them via music videos! And I mean all kinds - professional music videos, unprofessional music videos, anime music videos, game music videos... anything goes! So I'm going to post examples of things I find neat, give the thread some time to bake, then come back and post more because I want to share my favorites and be introduced to your favorites! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DI0_FAT-lKs A charmingly endearing mixture of Transformers (the 80s cartoon) and a song from Muppet Treasure Island. It takes the really surreal vibe of TOS and mixes it with the song for some really deadly lyrics. This should be cheesy and is... but it's also a delightful showcase of the player pulling off some truly stupid moves, set to music that makes it more exciting! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C75E6VNDn2U Amazing editing! A whole bunch of anime are in this, where it looks at characters with similar/identical designs and has them interact with each other. Wild, weird, ... fitting? Bonus info: while I find a lot of AMVs by browsing youtube and animemusicvideos, I must shout out crakthesky's blog for having neat yearly listings of AMVs they love. It's a fascinating medium, with all kinds of cool editing tricks, and I love it!

I just recently started listening to The Avalanches, and when I told a friend of mine that I was really digging the song Frontier Psychiatrist, he said that’s a song that always makes him think of the video when he hears it.
