She wrote very detailed descriptions of her experiences...
Is it better than 1995 snl at least?

Yes, If I don't turn off my TV in time after turning off my Playstation this Samsung car channel (presented by the History Channel) comes on with either lovely guitar riffs in between shows or dudes standing around a car and one of them is always near completely bald, but he spikes his remaining whisps all the towards middle and he has a chain wallet. It makes me so irrationally angry every time, and I'm too lazy to change it.

Know this exists for 24 hours a day is far worse than whatever bullshit SNL is death-rattling out.

Check out that "Where's Superman?" sketch right after the monologue. It goes on for like 6 minutes and I think there were about two times it managed to get a laugh out of the audience.

They also went to the trouble to snag rather elaborate xenomorph costume effects for "Aliens 4: Mad About You Aliens" (at about 47 minutes) but didn't bother to write any, like, jokes for the skit or anything. I guess "Aliens in Mad About You because Paul Reiser" is itself a joke, but the writers needed a memo that a skit needs multiple jokes.

Heres a blisteringly hot take:

If you ask anyone when SNL was best they will likely say right around the time they were 14 years old.

As a filthy foreign devil I’ve never seem the appeal of SNL, the “hilarious” ones I’ve seen are good for a chuckle and the others are painfully unfunny. Maybe it’s a cultural thing.

Today's SNL still hasn't aired here, so someone else will have to tell me if it's better or worse than "Turn On" a show that was cancelled during its first commercial break on its first episode in 1969: https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/d/d5/Turn-On_Episode_1.webm

Who all's parents let them watch SNL at a somewhat young age? I knew some kids that weren't allowed. I pitied them. My parents didn't worry about what we watched but we also didn't have cable. We did have satellite though but I could never figure out how to work it.

They had interesting ideas seasons 1 & 2 especially the “anyone can die” vibe and the alternate timeline, but the bizarre decision to pivot to a bad love triangle & somehow making Mars boring has me kinda want to watch S4 to see how stupid it gets.

True, although holy cow looking up sketches I recall enjoying is a good way to realize Mike Myers in yellowface was a common occurrence.

Saturday Night Live has always been terrible. It is a couple good skits that are ok per week. A couple great skits per season. This has always been the case. Everybody who says SNL used to be good is remembering those great skits from each era and forgetting all the terrible ones that surrounded them. Yes, even Farley had mostly forgettable skits. Chris Rock too. Akroyd? Most definitely. Norm McDonald? Ok, all rules have exceptions.

SNL mostly sucks and always has, but Kenan Thompson owns. Him and Kel Mitchell are making a Good Burger sequel right now and I'm gonna watch it and like it.

Jimmy Fallon, on the other hand, has never once been funny. And Will Ferrell is only funny when he's not on SNL.

Yeah he definitely has the talent wonder if it was because he didn’t have a big breakthrough silly 90s comedy like Sandler or Carrey. His podcast Dudesy is hilarious & showcases his masterful impressions, in segments such as “Stone Cold Steve Austin Reads Will Sasso’s High School Diary.”

It’s fun when he rambles as a character about how NWO split into the Wolfpac & black & white to annoy his non-wrestling fan cohost but then realize he’s making sense & has encyclopedic knowledge about the sport.

SNL was never good

Even its so-called “golden age” in the 70s had maybe 1 good sketch per episode buried under a pile of cringe.

Brace yourself for such knee-slapping sketches like “Chevy Chase Falls Down”, “People Say The Word “Cheeseburger Really Fast”, as well as “John Belushi Mocks The Japanese.”
