Funnily enough, I haven't seen another Thunderbird in years but there are still several cougars rolling around town.

Past:
1994 Ford Thunderbird - Got me nearly 100K miles of trouble free ownership before rust took it out. Best thing I've ever driven if the inside didn't sound like a thousand cracking plastic bits at all times.
1987 Ford LTD Crown Victoria - Below base model, red on red on red. Sold it to some local kid and his grandpa who were going to make it a project. Have never seen it since.

1989 Nissan Maxima - Bought off of my friend for $300 as it was his grandfather's and I wanted to get it running. Turns out his grandfather had gotten it as payment for a construction job and nobody cared about it, was very fun to drive.

Present:
1993 Geo Tracker - It's fun, it's rough, it was a solid daily driver. Now permanently a convertible.

1989 Ford LTD Country Squire - The same as the '87 LTD but the opposite end, fully loaded. Ties the Thunderbird for the best thing I've ever driven. Just wish it would stop leaking everything. Served as my daily for about a year and is now my way into car shows.

2011 Honda Fit - Bought as a daily driver after the Geo was caught in a hail storm. Was recently totalled out in a really bad hail storm. Haven't sold it yet as I'm cleaning it up and replacing some small things here and there, but has just been replaced with a:
2007 Honda Element - Just got it and have been meaning to update my ages old AI thread about it, working on getting it settled still. The Fit was great but my hobbies of grabbing grubby car parts at junkyards was making it hard to keep clean. This is much easier.

I got my first car in high school, The Hail Mobile, because we were out on this family drive and had parked by a big lake, and a thunderstorm black as night came upon us. Thunderous, terrible hail, the roof of the Sentra pounding, the windows breaking, family screaming. It felt like it lasted forever, of course only lasted a few minutes.

We could drive away. The car was covered front to back in hail damage. The insurance declared it totaled, Dad bought a new car, and fixed the Sentra up enough for me. My first car. It was only 2 years old so felt like a new car inside. Lots of fun times to come.

My coworker has one. He said the tensioner pulley went out at 89000 miles and blew up his engine. Took the catalytic converter with it. 6000 miles later a seal blew on the differential and we think that's also dead, I guess it's getting fixed this week.

The reality is my next car will probably just be a civic touring or accord or something and that's probably years down the road.

1987 Ford Escort 1.6 Ghia. Comfy and a good drive, my first car. Absolute rust bucket though.

1991 Fiat Tipo 1.6DGT. Galvanised body so no rust but my god mechanically it was a basket case.

1996 Ford Escort 1.8LX. Cool colour (metallic aubergine)

2003 Honda Civic 2.0 Type S. My first brand new car. Loved the v-tec

2005 Audi A3 Sport 1.9tdi. Great solid car and mega fuel economy

2007 Toyota Avensis 2.0 Diesel. First company car. Reliable but so so boring.

2010 Ford Mondeo 2.0 TDCi. Comfortable and great for long distances. Solidly built.

2013 Volkswagen CC GT 2.0 Diesel. Beautiful black car with caramel coloured leather seats. Awfully hard on rear tyres though.

2016 Volkswagen Golf GTI. Wanted one since I was a young man. Amazing car in every way. Never owned a car for so long (7 years) but sold after someone tried to break into my house for the keys.

2019 Volkswagen Golf Match Edition 1.5 TSi. Comfy and adequate but it’s no GTI. God I miss Heidi.

Well, in Whoville they say - that his tiny hands grew three sizes that day.

1993 Acura Legend - deceptively fun car. Headgasket blew a few months after I bought it, boy that wasn't fun/cheap to fix. I always wonder if I would've had any more luck with the early 90s 300zx that was for sale at the same shady used car dealership.
2006 Infiniti G35 - Goddamn I loved this car. Put a dent in the passenger side when I wasn't paying enough attention getting out of my parking garage. Sold it to my dad who fixed it up and drove it for a year before selling it to a teenager.
2017 Acura ILX - Pretty much a Honda Civic with a leather steering wheel. Still good, reliable car that I probably didn't need to trade in, but too late now.
2019 Mercedes Benz A250 - Current car. Torque-y and fun to drive.

Why yes I am a wannabe fancy lad

I started driving in 1978. I tend to drive cars until they fall apart.

1978 to 1980 -1961 Chevrolet Corvair (Loved that car, had to sell it when the family moved from Colorado to California)
1980 to 1985 - 1973 Ford Pinto Station Wagon in Buzzard Barf Green (It was only $1800, and I needed a car for college.)
1985 to 1987 - 1976 Chevy Monza (Easily the worst car I have owned. Finally had a piston melt down while driving to work.)
1987 to 1990 - 1982 Mazda B-2000 Pickup. Great car, crappy transmission
1990 to 2002 - 1989 Nissan Frontier pickup. (Drove it over 250,000 miles)
2002 to 2023 - 2002 Nissan Frontier Pickup. (Drove it over 300,000 miles)
2023 to Whenever - 2023 Nissan Frontier Pickup. (I've driven it over 2,000 miles)

Mrs. Genesplicer has her own selection of cars, as well. She tends towards Hondas.

The guy in your av looks like someone that would steal your homework but forget to copy it in his own handwriting and just cross out your name and put his down.
But its ok cause he's on the football team. Then in college would get taken to the hospital multiple times for getting injured or alcohol poisoning while doing "a sick keg stand bruh"!!

I have owned only one car.

I bought a brand new 2007 Altima in October of '07. It was a left over model and they were trying to get rid of them for the '08 models so I got a sweet deal. Only paying 250 a month for it. Next June it'll be completely paid off.
