I was at the grocery store the other day and I spent a couple hours looking at the peanuts. Everyone knows peanuts butter is just peanuts and butter but what’s all this other poo poo? why is there sugar in my peanut butter? what is peanut butter spread? if it’s peanut butter you can spread it. is it peanut butter? yes. can you spread it? no we just leave it as a big lump on a bread of your choice

As an anthropomorphized peanut myself, I detest big peanut butter’s insistence on using cartoon squirrels and bears and poo poo on the label instead of us peanuts. Just the other day a colleague of mine got so smacked out he let beastly greek stevedores grope him for nickels at the chinatown docks just to make a buck

The best peanut butter isn’t made anymore. It was a Peter Pan product that was just slightly crunchy. Small grind so it was still spreadable and dippable with just a little cronch.

I am allergic to nuts, for example if I eat cashews I get a bad reaction (yes I know cashews are not botanically nuts), but I don't need an epipen because my throat and lungs and such don't swell up. But I get itching all like internally and poo poo. The effects last about 36 hours, it's horrible. I get a similar reaction if I eat peanuts. But I can eat JIF Creamy peanut butter and I'm fine and I like it. The only thing I can think of is that reactions like that usually have to do with specific proteins present in the nuts, so maybe grinding the peanuts down to a smooth creamy consistency breaks down or changes the proteins that I'm reacting to? Anyway, nuts are weird. Peanut butter is good, but I only ever eat JIF Creamy, and maybe the occasional Reece's Peanut Butter Cup.

If gasoline is what's used to keep JIF emulsified without me needing to stir 16 ounces of glop on the daily I'm gonna be down. If I just wanted peanuts on bread I'd just toss some peanuts on bread. I want peanut butter, a peanut related substance.
