An epic tale directed by Akira Kurosawa about a defeated kingdom's sole surviving princess (Misa Uehara) and her guardian (Toshiro Mifune) trying to reach a safe haven while surrounded on all sides by enemies out for their gold and their lives. It's a great film with a lot of interesting dilemmas that have to be solved on the spot. It's high action, almost never a dull moment once the second act begins. I dare you by the end not to cheer, hoot and holler! Fantastic film, in all aspects. Highly recommending this one. Pretty much everybody involved in this film is dead. Nevertheless, their performances will live on forever. 5/5
