So far Biden announced a task force for the Bab al-Mandeb which was a mess because there was no coordination, and shipping companies have redirected traffic around the Cape except Maersk waffled and decided they were going back through the Suez except the Hangzhou just got hit by a missile and then attacked by small craft so now they aren't.

Same with European cargo. Container market has room in their schedules so maybe just increase lead times by a week. Oil doesn't so there might be a bit of an impact. I live about 300km away from the epicenter of the earthquake in Osaka and it was shaking for a good 30 seconds. Not strong enough to knock anything down, but strong enough for things hanging to start swinging a good bit, and long enough to start scaring me. My phone started blasting emergency notices at me, which gave me enough time to get my kids and sit down. I turned on the TV and a few minutes later a tsunami warning was published, which was expanded multiple times to cover the entire northern coast of Japan. Just like that tweet posted above, newscasters were (and still are) practically screaming at people to run for their loving lives.
