So its officially December which means its time for me to watch all the nostalgic holiday schlock that I love so much, and being a big fan of stop motion I ofc always watch all the old Rankin Bass holiday specials. So there I am watching Santa Claus is Comin'lol to Town when I noticed something weird during a scene where Santa checks his naughty/nice list:   Creydon? Heater?? Trean??? FeiBer???!!? Who the gently caress named these kids? Is Rankin Bass responsible for the current stupid child name crisis among dumb parents? can this just be chalked up to laziness on the part of the japanese animation studio? Am I a big stupid dumbass for even posting this??? yes

OP it's Irean, not Trean, those names are in alphabetical order. And to be fair, the small number of childrens' names could be explained by them being for a very small country, or town. Also  at NAUGHTY FANNY.

I just recently noticed this, and was wondering how long before MAGA ends up short-stroking this all over the place. It turns out Rankin/Bass is very progressive, and most people didn't notice. Female Elves have small noses and hair.  Male Elves are seemingly bald and have large noses.  Then there's Hermey...

Well thank you for this, I had no idea so many important Japanese animators did work for these guys until this post. Apparently Miyazaki and Osamu Tezuka both did work for these producers. The more you know!
