here's a good easy to follow video on how to make the classical crane: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GC_Szxdqh2Y and you don't need any designated origami paper to make origamis, normal printer paper is fine, you just have to cut it into squares  and the fold the paper gets from that is also the first fold needed for the crane ChubbyChecker fucked around with this message at 20:13 on Dec 5, 2023

Well, I found a video of someone teaching how to fold Totoro, so now I've the pattern printed out and you can't stop me from going straight to the deep end instead of trying a crane first! It's either gonna fail in an amusing matter or I will actually achieve something this year looking somewhat artistic. Can't wait for tomorrow! |

You have convinced me to do something I've not done in like 20+ years. So, in a week when, I bought a 96 pack of construction paper, my apartment is full of paper, it will be your fault. did a pretty cool boat yesterday, it came out awesome and I'm doing a video edit for it. then I decided to build a table for my cat face and I played a drinking game where it was a shot everytime I unfolded something. It didn't go exactly great and I ended up very drunk before I was done and the table also didn't hold up the cat... so, that one was kinda a waste of time. I did learn some interesting counterfolding, so I'm gonna call it a learning experience. anyways, I'll post soon with the BYOBoat, which is awesome and I woke up PrincessDoom to show her when I finished. I really like it. |

I was a bit surprised. And, now I'm going to let the power go to my head and ask that we keep the thread open, pleasy? I've got a project I'm working on and want to show it off, unless there's a BYOB origami thread I don't know about... there's almost always a chance that something is a thread. I'm quite honored at having been chosen and this thread has been a lot of fun. I made videos for the first time in years, had a lot of nice stuff to look at, and had a bunch of fun with people that also liked folding paper a bunch of weird ways to make stuff look cool. |
