IMO, the Scarlet Gospels (Clive Barker's big return to and sendoff to the character) is a pretty bad book. If you go into it expecting the torture-demon to have, idk, some sort of twisted but firm ideals, some sort of devout faith based on suffering (like in Hellraiser 2), you do not get that. He's just a petty rear end in a top hat rapist. With a bunch of really petty, smallminded grudges at his coworkers, his manager, and the big boss. And he's very sore at being called Pinhead.

It is Clive Barker canon that Pinhead just does not get on with Butterball. Doesn't like him. They don't really click. It's not really any big, dramatic grudge, but, ugh, that guy is just so annoying. Won't be sending that jerk a card for Torture Day.

I read all the Hellraiser comics because they were on Comixology. They’re a fantastic poo poo show. Everyone gets to be Pinhead at some point. One of the Pinheads brings a gun to hell. OG Pinhead goes super saiyan. My favorite scene in the comics though. Pinhead and one of the protagonists appear out of a portal to talk with another group of protagonists. They’re like “You guys gotta hurry and come with us to Hell, there’s some poo poo going down.” And one of the guys just goes “Nope” and walks out of the room and out of the story entirely.
