Remembering when CHUDs acted like "president elect" was a never before used title, and therefore a deep state plot to make everyone accept the RIGGED AND STOLLEN election so they put "President Elect" in front of their names on Twitter.

A now former friend was all up in arms about that whole president elect thing when Biden was elected, and how it was totally made up and never used before, so I showed him photos of Trump and Obama using it years before.

Of course it didn't make a bit of difference in his view.

Actually, president-elect kinda is. It's not written into the constitution, but there are other federal laws that grant certain privileges to the president-elect to insure a smooth transition. They get an office, funds for hiring staff, access to information, rhat kind of thing. It was a big deal in 2020 that Trump wasn't following the law and letting Biden have the things he was legally entitled to.

It's also nothing even remotely new. But of course frothy-mouth Trumpsters have no knowledge of, among many other things, history.

I genuinely don't get his quadrupling down on the whole "immunity" thing, beyond grasping at any straw possible anyway. Like, you only need immunity if crimes were committed. And he staunchly insists he didn't do anything illegal.

There's a not-insignificant chance he doesn't even know what immunity is and just grabbed that and ran with it after hearing someone talk about it (which is why it popped up suddenly in his rambling many months ago and now it's always there), but nobody seems to be pushing him to elaborate on why he needs it.

I'm not some snob that turns up my nose at anything below Michelin-star fare and there's plenty of "crap" food that I enjoy, but the food from Casey's was *inedible*. One bite and I threw the rest in the trash. (I'm also not the kind of person that wantonly throws food away, either.)

It speaks volumes about the republican party that the objectively dumbest candidate whose momentum is driven by loud angry chaos and fueled by equally dumb supporters is the one that trounces everyone else and the majority of the party falls in line behind that person for no other reason than because of the god drat R next to the name.

In a better world the rest of the party would shun and shame him and he should have never qualified for any office ever. But welcome to the United States, where dumb people have the numbers to pull government down to their intellectual level.
