I don't think that something that has a whole lot of not-Disney stuff and some of the most incomprehensible lore would make a good choice for an anniversary movie.

I think the setting ends itself to more stories in a pretty natural way since the first movie ended with a sense of discovery and adventure rather than peace and quiet.

Space Cadet loves it and sings from it a lot but that's because it was the first movie she saw in cinemas and so was exactly the right age to get attached to it.
