Since it's February, I feel it my moral duty to insist you all go play The Outer Wilds, because I'm a convert to that cause now. The cause of making sure as many people experience that beautiful game as possible. The GOTY thread strikes again in forcing me to finally get off my rear end and play something great that I just had sitting in my backlog.

Your time has value, and wasting it is no bueno. It's OK to not like a game that other people like, or feel bad that you wasted money buying it, but wasting more time playing it is just doubling down on the waste, not recouping value. I definitely took a while to come around on this, especially in a hobby where completionism and cheevo-hunting are so prevalent and hit the dopamine button in my brain so directly.

I've started Xenoblade Chronicles 2 and it's interesting how different it's from the first game tonally and visually. The setting grabbed me right off the bat but I'm getting used to the new combat which so far seems less interactive

Just got done with it- the boss battles are sick and the combat system has just enough complexity to stay fun throughout the game

Didn't want to be done with it but I uh basically found/did everything on the map

Really loved the trap room traversal gauntlets and the movement in general

Kinda wish the characters got just a little bit more exposure/time

Hazard traversal gauntlet stuff makes me want to go back and play Celeste again or even the PoP Sands of Time game from the early 2000s

I don't think the remake will be any good, but people might be misremembering how much combat was featured in the original Silent Hill 2 trailer back in the day.

That said, not a great trailer.
