Chapter 13 Wish we got to see more of the individual trials for each character. Kind of just summarized what we already knew, but would have liked another solid minute or two of them each. Also, man teared a bit @ Young Aerith T_T. Some help her! L2, L2,L2,L2,L2 Unhinged Cloud is great, everyone is like "uh oh" Elena almost got her head chopped off there. Is it too sudden that Elena just now starts questioning orders when she was gung-ho about everything. What has Reno been doing all game

Game done. Clocked in a 101 hours and 30minutes. Final Chapter and Conclusion stuff. awww... Aerith dies?! In one world line I guess...if that's what they're going for. I hope she doesn't keep haunting the group in the next game, already tired of Sephiroth doing this all game. Its kind of annoying how Sephiroth kept trolling the group and Cloud, and he can just slip in anytime into any of these reunion walkers Matrix agent style? A bit much imo. He could have easily killed the entire group whenever since they totally ignore them most of the time with their backs turned. Wasn't sure what they were doing with the Zack scenes during the middle of the game, but loved the payoff, Zack jumping over to help his buddy Cloud before going back to his worldline. Final fight went a bit sloppy, I don't think I ever put Cait's stuff back on and didn't intend to use him, so whenever the party split up with him in it, it really messed with my plan. omg @ the end, this freaking sleeper agent Cloud with the black materia hiding there. Was the whole fake Tifa thing a red herring for the trailers or just inconclusive, the player never saw if there was a scar or not.

There weren't really any backline party member situations in Remake that I can remember. There were only four party members at all, and usually the story would just dictate that one of them isn't there to participate.

It was pretty conclusive--Tifa's not fake. The whole point of that subplot was that Tifa was questioning Cloud's memory and Sephiroth needed to make Cloud distrust Tifa so she didn't make him remember the truth.

This is like the 4th or 5th time I've seen someone be incredulous in a negative way about the mushroom picking minigame Can you try to explain to me why it's such a big deal, because I super don't understand? It's a cute little bespoke micro-game that takes up 20-30 seconds each of the three times it pops up in a light-hearted sidequest about helping a bad chef make food

I thought that minigame was pretty fun, honestly. Using the haptics it was pretty easy to sus out which ones weren't giving any resistance, then that greatly narrowed down your choices when it came to the other parts

I remember one of the mushrooms had a very similar further and furthest angle, but the game gives you multiple tries so it wasn't a bother. I felt it was a change of pace. The sidequests in Gogaganga are pretty great - I love the chicken one. The absurdity, and the ending are wonderful

The last one had barely any distinction between the sweet spot and the final state haptics wise and I blew it but I don't think there's like a third magnify gated behind it or anything (do not tell me if there is)

Tbh I think that quest in general is about on par with any random ff16 side quest in the back half of that game, not because of the mushroom picking thing but it's just the most brain dead MMO fetch quest bullshit imaginable that for the most part rebirth manages to avoid but gongaga was such a short part of the game I cant really bring myself to give a poo poo given that it is sandwiched between imo the two best areas

mushroom was fine, just a bit confusing since didn't realize you had to do it in the reverse give. but just annoying cause the last one was like oh you messed up one time, its over. I don't count it as a mini-game though..there's no tiered score/harder mode, just a little side-quest. Overall, there's some mini-games I hate, but since there's so many, and they don't really last that long, if you put them altogether in a pot and blend it, in the end, its all above average. Just have to accept that you will never be good at the piano and boxing game. And the important stuff is always on ones with a low point ceiling so you don't miss out. So its all fair in the end. Right now just a bit lost on trying to coincide the OG Sephiroth and this one. OG just had the jenova stuff going on, and this one has that, but also doing something with the whole worlds and whispers thing, and what he's going with that. Maybe this one was from another world and slipped in this one like how Zack and Biggs did in their scenes.

Will I hate hard mode if the advanced arena fights are annoying? Just a sea of King Zu. Speaking of, should I do all of the normal mode fights and activities before hard mode, or does it not matter with chapter select?

I’ve been playing SSBU with the kids and re-engaging my late 90s child self by thinking “Sephiroth is so cool!!!”, which got me thinking of these games. I remember the first being released in 2020 but never paid attention. So there are (currently) two of these games out, and they are basically remaking the entirety of FF7 but splitting them over 3 games? And it’s not exactly old school JRPG combat but now a sort of ARPG hybrid? I have not played a FF game since the Tidus one but I know they have kind of moved out of the pure turn-based style long ago.
