This series has had many things so ridiculous it strained belief. A castle with another golden castle inside it. A hidden WW2 battleship. Fighting arenas accessed with Metal Gear-rear end contraptions. However, none were as ridiculous as Tak doing those moves in pants that tight without destroying them.

The texture was a bit too fuzzy for details, but that was a beauty clinic yes. Also, the Made in Girls bar is a weird transliteration, what they most likely meant is Maid not Made. The legal drinking age in Japan is 20 (which is how old Kiryu was in 0/1988), which'd make her 19, which doesn't make it one bit less skeevy for a 40something dude to be hitting on.

The yen used to be very stable at 120-130ish yen to the dollar/euro, but in the last year and a half or so it really lost a lot of value and dropped to 160ish yen to the dollar/euro. Never been a fan of these side-stories. You know it's some kind of scam, but it's just all awful without any real resolution.

To be slightly fair to Hoshino, he's still a baby and guns are much less a thing in Japan than in the US, so outside of detective/crime show enthusiasts I'd wager the amount of people knowing about rifling is going to be low to non-existent. Anecdotal as gently caress, but from all the people I know who manage to make long-term long-distance relationships work, none of them are straight. Women love it if you bring up intensely traumatic events in casual conversation. It's the fastest way into their hearts. The guy we meet at the ADDC and was hovering around Shono was Ichinose, the vice-minister of health, not the actual minister. Not to be mistaken with steak restaurant CEO Ichinose.

It's very sloppy on the part of the writers yes. But as we've established, remembering things that happened in previous games is already iffy when it comes to Kiryu, and much worse when it comes to supporting characters. Shinada and cop dude from Y4 also disappeared without a word. Or for that matter, poo poo that happens in a single game. Remember how big the narrative was on Saejima becoming sworn brothers with Baba after everything was done, or how Majima was Park's ex-husband in Y5, and they just... forgot? The sewers shrinking is weird, as is underground Kamurocho disappearing. It's just dang inscrutable.

Yeah, he could be a dick, but in a likeable way. But also, even if he'd been in this game, it wouldn't have made much of a difference. We know everything; Shono saw a slippery slope and grabbed a sled, and no matter how many people had to die, the end justified the means to him; Kido, who had a chance to do the right thing but didn't; Ichinose, who doesn't give a gently caress how many people get crushed for his schemes to get his buddies a fat retirement job; Kuroiwa is the Mole because of course the cop is the serial killer. If this was a Kiryu game, that'd be enough. We'd be cracking skulls and Tiger Dropping goons until we punched our way to the final mastermind to settle things like men, shirtless and on top of a tall building. But it's not, this is a Yagami game, and it's much more about the system and its workings that lead to all this. You can't punch that until it stops, unlike Tojo traitor #1312.
