personally i would wait to judge an ending until ive actually seen it in motion in any way whatsoever.

how does a character dying as a direct result of something make it 'irrelevant' its a fact that leads directly to a secondary antagonist's actions in the third act and those actions result in his death. that isnt irrelevant. thats a completed plot point. what else do you want
