despite some of our recent history, I don't think the Cubs org entertained the thought of signing him. That said, a small part of my happiness with the Bellinger signing is that it almost certainly took us out of the "running" for him both financially and in terms of roster space. We'll trip over our own dicks in a million other ways, this doesn't need to be one of them

I bought some Angels jerseys awhile back through DHGate. The seller "fastest_shipping" no longer exists and I can't pull up the item anymore. I was pretty happy with the quality of them in general, can't say the same for the product on the field though. I paid $14.69 each and ended up getting four total (Red and White Trout and Ohtani, in Medium and Large) so I'd have options and could pick which size fit the best. They are cool base style.

Here is my dog wearing a size Medium, hope this helps.

With zero context into what Votto is actually looking for in free agency, if it's just to play in any capacity anywhere I find it wild that not even some dogshit bottom feeder like the A's would throw the league minimum at him as a potential flip candidate/popular player who'll put a couple extra butts in seats. Yeah he's old but he's also a no doubt HoF guy who might still have something in the tank if he's healthy.

For real, plus he seems like the ideal clubhouse guy. Some team with a shitload of young talent would do really well to bring him aboard.

lol like the tenth hammy injury for Madrigal, at some point the Cubs need to accept his legs are made of hopes and dreams and move on.

Dogshit news for Kilian though, looked like he was finally starting to make things click.

Morel will start 150 games at third and win a gold glove.

e: actually it might be worst case scenario for Pirate Bob, no way in hell will anyone trade for him so there goes the whole point to signing him and they're stuck paying him.

Is there a clause for this in any codes of conduct? lmao

if 162 is too long then how is 148 a significant improvement? You're cutting like 2 weeks off of a 26 week schedule, it a reduction of less than 9% of games

if the complaint about it being too long is injury-related, you probably aren't lopping two weeks off - you're keeping the season the same calendar-length and increasing the frequency with which teams get Mondays and/or Thursdays off. More rest days to help with injuries

I am skeptical that would have a significant impact on injury prevalence.

I'm not sure either, but seeing your team have 15-20 day stretches without a rest day is brutal in any case.
