I read the book but that was about 25 years ago and it’s like 1200 pages so I have only the vaguest recollection of how the plot goes.

I actually found my parents' 1975 paperback copy that I read in high school, which somehow hasn't completely disintegrated yet. Goddamn this thing was a tome.
