if you hated dune part 1 you probably won't like 2. i liked it, they made some changes that i felt were for the best. part 3 is very obviously teed up and will likely get greenlit next week if the ticket sales figures from this weekend are anywhere near accurate.

2 ends the first novel's story. i've heard the third will be parts of messiah and children welded together, which would finish out paul's role as an active character.

Watching the 1980s Lord Peter Wimsey TV series. I don't think it's on par with the Holmes series with Brett at all, but dang did they cast the right bloke as Wimsey.

e: He's actually better than what the character appeared to be like in the books, but of course that's subjective. (I don't much care for the books.)

looked out my window earlier this week and saw rat(s) darting between my compost bins and the shed so this weekend i moved the compost bins to the far corner of the yard away from cover and spent some time cleaning out the shed. hopefully i can disturb things enough that they move out and i don’t need to resort to trapping

yeah if that’s a normal boss theme, the actual boss theme(s) have to go like 10x harder. let’s see what you come up with

I'm revisiting the older battle theme I did because I wanted to clean it up (I'm a lot better at harmony now) and add drums, but I also want to write a different B section and I'm having a hard time with ideas... the chord progression is pretty solidly circular and I can't figure out how to break out of it. so I've got a 45 second loop that I think is really good but I can't turn it into a full song, boo

then again there's plenty of 90s RPGs with 30 second battle music loops so maybe I should not worry about it
