there are moments where it comes through in the original localization with red using less formal language after cosmo canyon and having more stereotypical and vulnerable teenager moments but a lot of it is relegated to optional dialogue dependent on having him in your party, or talking to him on the highwind, there's a lot of it between him and cloud there

it's like what they wanted to get across with reeve's manner of speech versus cait sith's but there's only one somewhat murky allusion to it in the middle of the mutual reveal of the double identity to the party and to scarlet and heidegger where he accidentally uses the wrong tone of voice for each group lol

I choose to believe everyone itt saying they played rebirth with subs and Japanese audio is a fluent Japanese speaker BC the English voice acting is maybe the best I've heard in an RPG since... Well BG3 but that's a high fuckin bar to clear
