Personally I started playing Last Epoch and enjoyed it alot as a middle ground between PoE and Diablo, hoping the next season or w/e doesn't ruin the game.

yeh LEs cool. i feel like the monolith stuff isnt there yet so my characters usually end after a few hours doing them, but otoh ive made like 5 characters since 1.0 all paladin or witch and had fun with each one lol ive been playing grim dawn as well the last year or so and i slept on it for way too long, its becoming one of my favorites now. ppl say poe is d2 extrapolated, and it is to an extent but it isnt like d2 to actually play, but gd i think does fit that description way more

its a golden age of arpgs for some reason, but i will be sad if they nuke d4 before it got going bcos the way the game and abilities and spells feel is unmatched unfortunately. poe and le both have way less impact or something in how stuff works idk what it is

Grim Dawn had gamepad support while Diablo 3 on PC didn't so that was a point in its favor

i am not a huge fan of all the open world/tower clearing stuff in ff7r but mostly because i have the idiot kind of gamer brain where i have to do all the content even if it's optional. and like i just want to progress with the story, which is truly incredible. i had to turn down the difficulty on galian beast though, just too hard

the other point in its favor is its a genuinely fantastic arpg with both approachable intuitive build creation as well as the depth for complex end game optimising facilitated by both fantastic and intelligent loot design as well as unique and meaningful character choices, while diablo 3 is a game made for people who would buy a duplo set and get stuck if it didnt come with written instructions

d4 as it is now before they redo the loot is more fun than d3 has been at any point in its life span and it isnt even a competition at all. d3 is unplayable lol

i acutually rolled a d3 char like 2 weeks ago bcos i was worried i had been being too harsh on it and had started remembering it worse than it was cos its been years, and actually its much worse than i remember. certified flush. the worst arpg ever created
