is this what you think of art?

Art currently because: (1) there are a lot people who only want experience new things, and (2) people who have limited leisure, so they stick with the same artists; force art to be very similar, and force artists to out put a lot of art in a short amount of time.

(Note (3): a million other reasons too.)

Although a counter argument, is that before there was a large barrier to entry, so that every piece of art that was put out, was special.
Where now, because art is easier to produce, there is a very low amount of creative mutation form art piece to art piece, but if in the past people had that lower barrier to entry, there would have been tons of like led zeppelin / pink floyd rip off albums.

A blunt force example of low creative different between pieces of art is Drift Phonk
Aggressive low mixed rap, bass boosted with a lot of distortaion and a melody made from cowbells
https://everynoise.com/engenremap-driftphonk.html

and here is a 2000's rock music example, shimmer pop.
https://everynoise.com/engenremap-shimmerpop.html

(this happened with novels too. It didn't happen to film because of the money, resources, and marketing ability. With videos games, it's starting to speed up with all that indie jazz.

https://www.businessinsider.com/chatgpt-ai-written-stories-publisher-clarkesworld-forced-close-submissions-2023-2

On the writing side of art, a publisher was just flooded with too many Ai works and had to close down, but that was going to happen in 10 years later without Ai.

In the middle of the 00's, short story anthology publishers started to required people to buy their book before a people could submit their story, because they were not selling that much, because people don't really read.

The biggest heresy is going to happen when some high school kid, with a lot of time and Ai, puts out well a polished Hollywood blockbuster movie from their bedroom.

People treat film like a religion, and having some kid make a good "live action" batman movie will be the biggest brainfuck moment for society as a whole..

I came across this guy online who teaches ap world history as a career and on youtube.
He then made an Ai of his own using selected sources.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wz_hEsxmEVs

So Ai sucking up all the information online was a huge burst that pushed Ai futher.
But like manufacturing where they revise a product using less materials, and improve the structures, Ai is doing the same.

Ai doesn't need every single fan fiction to write a novel.
Just toss every novel taught in an English classroom, and a few thrillers / romance novels, and you're good to go.

AI POETRY SLAM

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zJ6xor2SLNU

It's a 53 minute video which diligently reviews several published collections of AI poetry. Spoiler: the poems are bad

The first book "I Am Code" actually has an interesting hook where the authors write about their reasoning and how they went about their experiment and they actually interview several established poets and the videographer admits that although most of the poems are bad a handful are good-ish. Of course the authors did make the LLM churn out more than ten thousand poems and then selected less than 100 for the collection so there was human bias at work in putting the collection together to start with and the good-ish poems are pretty much just the cream skimmed from a slightly more advanced "one million monkeys on typewriters" simulation

Marcel Duchamp's artistic discovery was that "Art" is whatever is put in a museum.

A computer can put out a billion songs, and the real artists is the guy who either re-listens to a song, or tells their friend to check out a song.

When a person strums a song on their guitar to an audience, they are saying "this stuff I am choosing to play to you is important." They are making a choice inside the conversation of all music, no matter how limited their understanding of that conversation is.

List of the video winners: https://bleedingcool.com/pop-culture/pink-floyd-dark-side-of-the-moon-competition-hit-by-ai-controversy/

This is showing how Fast Ai is changing the way people look at visual arts.

To me, comparing those two videos is like a comparing Mcdonalds-Burger to homemade-Pasta, now.

In the past when there wasn't that much art, it was easier for the one with better quality to win regardless of concept.

The guitar one isn't that great, but it clears a bar of quality enough that the idea of a guitar zooming with morphing parts and other instruments is neat in concept.
The execution to me looks boring because I have seen a lot of AI stuff like that

But then also the Execution of psychedelic mind trip video is also boring because I have seen a lot of LSD/ Acid/ DTM / psychedelic videos in tv and and movies.

---
Video of some guy doing a countdown of psychedelic countdown in tvs
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l3vafNHBElM
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4OrWI9pydxA&list=PLcZPznpZ-L-hO9I1-HROCLS5NMCfggg4C&index=25 - and pink floyd's the will animation
---
So it's easy to understand why Somebody could choose the lower quality video / the Mcdonald-burger, it's because it is more line with what the person wants.

The worst part is, it can't just be new content to them, it must be made recently. Something from 2021? Sorry too old. You want rappers rapping about (rAnDoM tHiNg)? There's a treasure trove of actual obscure hip hop from the 80s, rapping about literally anything and everything if your interest is genuine- however that would require human intelligence, something that apparently is now totally off the table.

However this extensive back catalog of rap may not be able to satisfy everyone's terrible level of taste and sense of humor...

A part of me really hopes that tons of the Ai stuff grabs the attention of the trendwhores who want subpar things, and leave the rest of the art world alone, so the rest of us can have the good things without the trendjumper's weirdness,

Like making an artists super popular but then hating them a week later.
Or making tons of stupid articles about their fake controversies.
Like those people just want gossip and drama, and I hope they get it, and it's far away from me.

On the internet there are people who post videos of one thing, like a riot, and then say it's another more recent riot.
And then your racist facebook uncle promotes it.
This is just a little more personal and and it's obscurity allows it to ruin a person's life faster.
Like when internet people said some other person was the Boston Marathon Bomber.

"Oh this horrible thing is happening."
Is it going to kill me in the next few hours.
"It might! It might!"
Eh, give it a day to see if it is even real.
