Did you just fly through the main quest without doing any side stuff or something?

what i mean is that the visuals of the world map - the actual as-displayed graphic - has a huge amount of dead space to the west that was very clearly intended to be a place you explored that was cut for time

They made a "wet" condition, have fish and fish-based recipes, created an entire style of gathering spot dedicated to gathering fish, and also made the ocean kill you immediately upon touching it and also made all the boats and docks look hosed up and abandoned because they didn't want to make a swimming animation

It's a choice I respect because I hate swimming in video games.

What gets me about the Brine is the amount of blood that spreads out into the water as your character gets liquified and digested before waking up apparently fine on the shore. That is not just getting pulled under and teleported, you definitely die during some part of the process.

This and many other reasons are why the arisen is an undead from the souls series. Gransys was a previous age of fire. And all the ever burning bonfires around? C'mon

Warfarer's a little unwieldy but having invincibility, a mega-buff, and whatever else is pretty great. Rearmament should be a core skill though.

The maister skill should have been a passive to automatically equip the appropriate weapon when you use a skill, imo.

Most importantly about Warfarer, I can finally wear my plucky feathered cap again, now that it's freed from the archer vocation

That'd be ideal. I wonder if a mod could do it?

That would be perfect. Time to switch weapons would be enough of an intuitive tradeoff to make that experience a lot slicker

There is a mod that lets you swap to a new set of skills with each weapon instead of being restricted to 3+Rearmament total.

Just finished game myself, with around 70 hours played. Definitely my GOTY for 2024 so far, even with all the faults. There's just something magical about this game, the way it sucks you in.

My favourite memory is when I was I was fighting a Griffin in Battahl. The Griffin was down in a canyon with my pawns fighting it and I was pelting it with spells from above as a sorcerer. My last cast of the ultimate sorcerer spell felled the griffin but also left me with no stamina, causing my character to do the "out of stamina" -stumble and plummet into the canyon below. Only the be caught by my main pawn.
Would be a cinematic in most games, just emergent gameplay in this game.

From what I've heard ng+ is a bit pointless though, since there is no scaling. So I think I'll wait for now, play other games and then maybe do a modded run of ng+ at some point. There seems to already be a large selection of hard mode mods.

I've also noticed that now that I'm high level, my pawn gets hired a lot less, so if anyone needs a high level fierce cat warrior in their party, please consider hiring Dawn.

Is it possible to use those fancy oxcarts somehow? I rarely bothered even with normal ones so I never figured out how to use the fancy ones.

Son of Thunderbeast

The fully enclosed ones? You can go inside and ride along in real time, but you can't sit down in one and doze off.

Fun fact, if you can't cross the checkpoint yet you can hop in the fancy wagon that spawns going towards Battahl and ride it through the checkpoint. Nobody will bother you unless the guards see you get out on the Battahl side (then it takes a day or two for them to drop aggro)

I've been playing with the carts a lot lately. I might make a separate post about that

E: come to think of it I'm pretty sure the fancy wagons are supposed to be Phaesus'

When I did this for the trophy, the cart driver was pissed and kept telling me to get out. But he never stopped the wagon or forced me to leave so I made it through the gate without incident. Then I jumped out too early and the Benny Hill music started playing as a bunch of cops suddenly had something to do.

It is, indeed, Phaesus' cart.

Would you be my new best friends?

I got an escort quest to take the old warrior guy from the first village who you helped relocate when your girlfriend got run out of town for a walk, and harpies attacked us and he got knocked into the ocean. He didn't get brined, but he was lying unconscious (I think they put him to sleep?) and I couldn't collect him because it would start to brine me, so I moved away in the hopes he might get teleported closer to me... but then I got the escort failed quest and I can't find him now. Dude hasn't died and had his body eaten by the brine or something, has he? He was a cool old dude and I'm worried I done hosed things up for him :ohdear:
