The game is amazing. I was travelling down a road by foot and I saw a cart passing by a lone pawn fighting a minotaur. After goading the minotaur into attacking the cart I was able to get everyone to gang up on it, and just as I was about to leave a griffon decided to crash the party and promptly got the poo poo kicked out of it by everyone involved

Was adventuring until nightfall and then realized I don't have camping supplies, the closest town is really far away and my health is super low. Ran into a random npc being attacked by goblins and after saving him he gave me an escort quest to a village I've never seen. This game rules, I can't tell how much of this stuff is emergent so maybe it won't hold on another playthrough but so far this is just magical

Yeah having static spawns was one of my biggest issues with dd1 its a bummer they didn’t fix it

I dont expect it to find random spots to place enemies in but just having the same spawn locations rotate different enemy/npc types would go a long way. I wouldn't want level scaling unless it's tied to a story even tho

Yeah I think between the pawns and the oracle figuring out what to do isn't too bad. But some of the quests are obtuse and I'd just look them up.
