ah, denuvo. good to know the game will potentially run bad across all platforms.

Got any proof that Denuvo causes performance issues on halfway decent hardware? Genuinely, I would like to see it if so since someone inevitably Kramers into a thread any time a game comes out with Denuvo on it to say stuff like this but as far as I know any impact would be on load times which are virtually non-existant with an SSD.

I'm always amazed at people who can move sliders around to make a character look like a real person. I think a lot of it comes down to hair/facial hair, like if they have something close but not quite the same I feel like no matter how I move the sliders it will always look close but not quite the same.

Official Xbox controllers are less than $50 on Amazon and are the best PC controllers you can buy imo. There's other options cheaper than that too if you don't want to go whole hog.

I can deal with slowdown in cities if combat and such is mostly fine. Don't mind turning down settings either but that doesn't seem to help much from reviews.

Yeah I'm waiting for the 5 series cards as well. My PC is chugging along but I'm having more issues with overheating and CPU limitations and I am really trying to avoid getting a new case with better fans and moving my current stuff over to that then still having to upgrade later.

Playing on my 4k TV game runs well for me capped at 60 with basically default settings and DLSS set to quality. Definitely get frame drops but it's nothing too egregious, although I haven't been to the capital yet so who knows how that'll hold up. I'm sure it'll be a better on my monitor in 1440p.

I don't remember if it was this way in DD1 but if you get killed in combat you can pause quickly before you actually fall over dead and scarf down food/potions and you basically come back to life. Pretty handy!

Really gotta get used to the controls, I keep wanting to hit RB to bring up my skills instead of LB. I love the Thief's powder keg move, climbing onto the face of an ogre and planting a bomb on it then detonating it while jumping away is just cool as gently caress.

Lol I wouldn't know this game had the Capcom standard smattering of DLC unless I saw everybody talking about it. It's the complete opposite of aggressive and in your face, it's the kind of DLC that is perfect because only idiots buy it and it doesn't affect my game whatsoever.

Yeah you can really see the AI improvements when you tell your team to "Go!" while looking at a pack of enemies. Everyone springs into action and starts doing their thing immediately and it's awesome to just sorta look around and see your party loving everything up.

I looked up that goon made performance guide and it was literally just turning options up from where I had them by default and recommending disabling DLSS/FSR3 so uh I guess I'll tinker around on my own. I'd like to see a breakdown of the most performance hungry settings to start messing with to get it to run better.

Also I swapped RB and LB and for some reason I'm having such a better time with the controls this way. No idea why my brain couldn't deal with LB being the special attack modifier but swapping those two has been perfect.

Okay friendship with Powder Blast over, Gut and Run is the poo poo for taking down big enemies. I just fought a minotaur and we annihilated it after I was able to take it down with a gut n run to the head. Immediately after that a Griffon swooped in and we dismantled that thing too once I grounded it by shredding the wings. Implicate, the upgraded version of Ensnare, kicks rear end too. It's a lot of fun yanking enemies right in to execution range and plunging the daggers right in for an instakill, harpies are pretty much permanently grounded now too. Thief is so much fun!

Took a lot of healing items but we managed it and I couldn't get rid of that pawn fast enough.

Yeah I have been checking their equipped abilities every time I hire a pawn, there's so many even at level 25 that have no skills equipped. Real weird.

Little bummed to hear the advanced classes are sorta underwhelming, I apparently picked the most OP class (thief) from the start so I'm not really looking forward to changing it up for something that kinda sucks comparatively. I wish I could assign those classes to pawns, that might be more interesting.
