Lately I've been going down a YouTube rabbit hole watching sovereign citizens getting owned by law enforcement and it occurred to me that I have absolutely no idea where this social phenomenon began. Of course, there's no shortage of absolute morons out there willing to believe anything, especially if it works in their favor, but this whole sovereign citizen nonsense seems to be especially stubborn. How do these people get the idea that they are literally immune from laws and regulations?
