https://www.jpl.nasa.gov/edu/learn/project/how-to-make-a-pinhole-camera/ you can make a little pinhole eclipse viewer pretty easily, I remember doing this as a kid and it was fun. We have eclipse glasses my partner got; I am wondering if full on welding goggles would be good enough, too? I used to stare into the heart of a ceramic furnace with those things on, always felt like I was looking into the refrigerator from Ghostbusters

I can see the moon starting to cover the moon just fine when I look through the special glasses, but apparently all of the camera stuff I have is garbo, because there's nothing but sun in every pic I take…
