Haven't heard of any arrests in Canada yet though two of our shittiest Premiers (they're all lovely), Ford and Legault, have been calling on the cops to move in and remove the encampments. So far our lovely cops haven't made any moves. So far.

Currently listening to the federal government platforming sob stories from students whose sensibilities are hurt about antisemitism on campuses in Canada and how unfair it is that the cops aren't brutalizing protesters like they do down in the USA. So I watched that Bill Burr and Bill Maher clip where they're arguing about the campus protests and it is amazing to me just how quickly authoritarian fucks jump to saying the most bigoted poo poo the minute anyone engages them. Burr says he's on the side of the protesters and that's all the bait that Maher needs to go on a rant about how he's actually the brave one for saying that students are supporting terrorists. Opinions of Burr notwithstanding it is impressive how easily he can rile up bigots and have them say the quiet part loud. But even if it wasn't a shitsack like Maher it would be the same as anyone else because they have no stance that isn't propped up by racism or authoritarian fuckery.

Woman's hijab pulled off at Ottawa rally Its an upsetting story to begin with but what sticks out to me so much is just how childish the pro Israeli counterprotesters are in the b-roll footage. They treat "protest" as a chance to act like taunting pricks dancing and yukking and daring people to attack them with big white smiles and armed cops backing them up. "We are allowed to treat you like poo poo and if you stop us you get arrested" energy.
