Stepped out on the porch and got to watch a falcon try to grab a crow, the crow escaped, and then 4 crows dive bomb the falcon until it flew away. They followed to gently caress with it more.

i've got a nice view of a little garden at my job and we've got some bird regulars who keep showing up. there's some a magpie couple, there are some really stupid pigeons who keep falling off of plants, and there's a duck couple who have shown up every single year to nest despite the fact that it's possibly the worst place to do so. it's an enclosed garden, there's no water, there's a bunch of cats in the neighbourhood and the aforementioned magpies. so every year we have to launch operation save these idiot ducks and their ducklings which - while cute - is getting old. here's them from two years ago: https://imgur.com/R6SfnF7 my favs are these little fellas tho:

Hung around a bunch of ducks and geese last at the lake last night. There was one really vocal female mallard that seemed like she was on the outs of the group that kept hanging out near me, was cute. Felt like I made a new friend

Felt like I made a new friend there's a park near me that has hundreds of canada geese at this time of year. they are obviously on high alert due to nesting and babies, and it feels like the bird acceptance gauntlet (and poo poo gauntlet) to walk down the path through 30 geese

there's a huge, mostly dead tree by the river, and it's a favorite roosting spot of turkey vultures. it's a pretty ominous sight on overcast days
