So the implication here seems to be that the people that will love her speech tonight are closed-minded, bigoted, unemployed and uneducated right wing nutters?

It just occurred to me that if Trump loses, it's totally possible for him to declare that he only lost because of voter fraud, and contest the results of the election. He already did that in the primary, and this time right-wing bogeyman Hillary Clinton is his opponent. He's totally going to do it, isn't he? This is the dude that openly lied about having teams finding evidence that Obama's birth certificate wasn't real.

It'll be liked "unskewed polls", but ten times worse. The GOP base is even primed for this after years of conspiracy theories about ACORN, voter fraud by mexicans, and hatred of the Clintons.

It's 100% inevitable that this will happen. I also predict he will refuse to give a congratulatory call to Clinton or give a concession speech.

I don't think Trump REALLY wants to president much like how the Brexit politicians didn't really want leave to win. If he loses he will probably yell a lot about fraud and how he was cheated but not actually go about forcing a recount unless it's Gore/Bush close and the GOP forces his hand..

So apparently a poo poo load of major players in the GOP are not only refusing to endorse Trump but aren't even showing up to the convention. A few made excuses but one dude literally said "he's going fishing." Like for real..."gently caress this poo poo, I'm going fishing." He even specifically, to reiterate, said he's going to go fly fishing, to really drive it home. "Yeah no I'm not joking. I'm going to go catch fish instead of hail the Pumpkin King." OK he didn't say that specifically but it seems to be the idea.

I really, really, really want to see how the right wing hate machine spins this one.

No, and I don't know why you'd think so. Hell, that would make all the field trips that involve visits to historic churches or other religion-focused things illegal too.

There's a world of difference between "hey, this is a historic site related to this religion," and "this museum teaches the bible as literal truth."

Also a pretty clear legal distinction. Public schools are completely welcome to teach the bible as a historical document, just not as a religious one. Works the same with field trips.

Not as far as "is it legal to go on a field trip here" goes. Seriously I don't understand why you think it's reasonable to conclude going to a stupid museum must be illegal if it's also religous. It's a terrible idea, sure, and if had a kid and they brought home a paper asking permission for it I'd be calling up the teacher expecting a drat good explanation!

But illegal? Not at all.

Because there isn't. There's nothing illegal about a public school field trip going somewhere explicitly religious. It's simply a stupid idea to do.
