I’m gonna flush Pimp on the last chapter. No offense but I need to move on and I know the ending probably. Anyway dunno if I’m going to go fiction or non again… maybe I could catch up on some ‘casts… my main squeezes are UYD of course and, well I got bored of Skeptics Guide, but a philosophy reading group style chat called Partially Examined Life. I don’t like juggling to many shits but if there’s some epic preferably non Cumtown recommendayshs, maybe preferably fairy specific subject type ones. Holler. At ya boy.

I rewatched a couple eps of Unreakbale Kimmy ash moth and I stand by my initial appreciation of its “everyone gets slapped” sense of humor and also that it’s usually funnier than something like it should be. But I forgot when it was made and maybe things could still be funny back then.

Kimmy Schmidt is pretty funny but it’s one of those shows where as it goes on they try to cram more and more jokes into every single scene and it eventually doesn’t even feel like a show that takes place in the real world. Like there’s an episode where kimmy is applying to be a crossing guard and one of her rivals is a robot.

Magnus Archives is a pretty cool horror podcast. It's a bit like X-Files with monster-of-the-week episodes and occasional overarching episodes. I've only listened to the first couple seasons but was really impressed that the writing is consistently good considering one guy writes the entire thing

Psycho III was fairly epic. There's a dirtbag drifter guitar player who's just trying to get a couple bucks to get to LA, man, and in the first scene he's in he tries to rape a nun and then he gets a part time job at the Bates Motel and replaces a bunch of the wallpaper with collages of porno mags. Just to let you know that this guy is horny. Norman Bates eventually drowns him in a sinking car

my main issue with Kimmy Schmidt is that it was made by a lot of the same people and kinda has the same style as 30 Rock and 30 Rock is just kinda better. I really like the first couple of seasons tho.

yeah. tina fey is also better when she's laughing at herself and there are points during kimmy schmidt when it feels like it's just her getting up on a soapbox and being super weird. there's a whole episode where a bunch of college dudes are begging kimmy to sign sexual consent forms that makes the entire writing room for the show look like the 30 rock "how do you do, fellow kids?" joke. the main cast is mostly good and getting carol kane was a huge win IMO, but a lot of the side characters are hazel wassername tier at best. like her bumbling sheriff dad, her boyfriend named dong, and the street harassment construction worker guy are all one-off jokes that they just tried to grow into full characters. i think the construction worker actually is on 30 Rock, like played by the same guy, for a one-off joke, and comes back for the same joke in kimmy schmidt and just sticks around

i rewatched 30 rock recently and it holds up IMO. it's like kimmy schmidt in that they just pack jokes into every second and not all of them land, but more do than don't. the thing that killed me this time was when jenna finally looks straight at the camera and says "okay, i can't do this anymore. i've never met mickey rourke" and the running gag is never addressed again lol

the latest season of curb has been really good IMO. if the quality continues, it'll be a great way to cap off the show.

e: apparently i'm an episode behind? guess i have something to watch when i get home.
