Even old Varg didn't put any NS in his actual BM, in the before times anyway (haven't bothered with his post-prison poo poo). Back then nobody would have known he was a nazi if he hadn't gone around telling everyone he was a nazi.

The term (NSBM) is used really broadly these days to mean "black metal made by bigots." The actual NSBM scene is pretty insular and not very big. The few fests or shows they do (in Europe and the US at least) are usually done in secret and don't seem to happen very frequently. The only openly NS fest I can think of was Asgardsrei in Ukraine and I don't think that's happening anymore lol. This might seem pedantic but I think a bit of precision is necessary when people start talking about relatively popular and ostensibly apolitical bands like Watain being NS or NS adjacent.
