Hey since you're getting an amalgamation of weird poo poo you found on eBay and things you suddenly buy to address a new problem - please watch out for mixed metals situations and use dielectric connections if you need to. This probably won't come up even for you but I've seen plenty of destroyed copper to galvanized pipe connections, and I have no idea what other combinations might be bad news.

Anyway heres some red samples on a wall.

Next time, paint the samples onto A4 pieces of paper, then sellotape them to the walls. Can check the colour without having to repaint anything. Also, you can then move the papers around to try them out on different walls.

Seems like it would be really dark for that small 1-window room but I am not a fully qualified colour technician.

Also yeah, utter madness to use bluetack to stick samples up? Has she not heard of painter's tape. I use that for everything except painting.

We painted several samples in the bathroom, made a choice, bought the paint and then the floor under the shower rotted so we're getting the whole room redone instead

Oh hello... Whos this?

Only a smart meter man. And hes got a smart meter. ANd he can fit it. mother fucker.

hes kind of an arsehole actually but whatever.

Partly its because my dad tries to engage him in conversation and he pretty unsubtly tells us to gently caress off and leave him alone lol. Fair enough.

So heres what the cabinet looked like before

And heres after, smart meter installed, everything shifted up to the left, leaving only the temporary consumer unit on the right. That will be moved by my electrician to the top middle gap to provide gate/local power. And all the poo poo I need for actually connecting to the house will sit on the right with the big fat cable connected in. All perfect. Dunno why this took like 10 visits and a year to coordinate.

They left a thingy but it doesnt work yet. Said it might take up to two weeks. whatever. I dunno how it works? Is it an issue that my cabinet with the smart meter is like 50 metres from the house?

So I'm loving about in the plant room. But I do still need that big cable connecting both ends and my electrician can't come till friday week. But I'll try and get all my plumbing dry installed and cut for length in the mean time.

I hosed up there and didnt understand how angles work so had to recut it all obviously.

starting to look pretty sexy though.

This,

quote:

The way it functioned was very interesting. When the Drink button was pressed it made an instant but highly detailed examination of the subject's taste buds, a spectroscopic analysis of the subject's metabolism and then sent tiny experimental signals down the neural pathways to the taste centers of the subject's brain to see what was likely to go down well. However, no one knew quite why it did this because it invariably delivered a cupful of liquid that was almost, but not quite, entirely unlike tea

except instead italways produce a sort of dingy plaster grey colour

This is what caulking is for. Just slather it on there until you can't see any joints at all.

a pretty mundane photo for starters

I'm in the loft or attic or whatever we want to call the place I will store my illegal data mining business.

wiring in these network cables is loving horrible

Especially as we still dont have the fibre connection. Was supposed to have the last offsite work done by friday. Was on site early. lunchtime got an email saying its extended to next thursday lol. But I have taken command of the drain cover parking space. The fiat panda is sat proudly atop it.

I've spent the last few days in the plant room (I know this bothers a lot of you) trying to get poo poo worked out. Next friday my electrician is coming back to connect up properly the newly smart 3 phase power to the house proper and I want to make sure all my plumbing bits are not in but sorted so theres no issues there.

So you can see that big fat black power snake needs to do its route behind the hot water tank and into the bottom of the main power consumer unit.

I just need to get all this plumbing poo poo worked out before then. Like its not soldered. I'll need to remove most of it to get him access. but I still want to know.

And to be honest. its quite complicated. dunno how I'm gonna do it afterwards either

Heres the pump for the underfloor heating

my plan is aout the window, nothing lines up. Things are going to have to jump over other things to get where their going. lol

lol actually some things are working out better than expected. But also I've changed the gauge of pipe on particular bits a few times now. lol it is starting to make sense.

All sorts of extra bits to buy. lol how do I get this down in there?

You are looking at an unfinished situation. still more to do but also I've redirected the temp water over so I still ahve that.

All my family hav reappeared from my nieces birthday that I was not invited to. So I utilise them to carry the heat pump round to where it needs to be.

like its there now

but my brother and dad and me used some scaffold poles and rope to hoist it around on the temp decking.

so yeah just oredereed another 70quids worth of fittings to try and finish off the plumbing. Annoying cos monster plumb charge delivery on anythign under 100 quid and I just ordered about 90 quids worth from them a week ago.
