Didn't someone say, pretty explicitly, "I want to fight Kenny Omega, New Japan, hurry up and make a deal already"? Or am I imagining this?

I too belive that a strategy built around trying to get the literal muiltibillionaire family to run out of money is totally going to work.

The whole concept of this strategy is predicated on the idea that Tony is so stupid he can't help but hire everyone WWE releases for cash that AEW doesn't have coming in. What if he just... doesn't?

- All Conceit Wrestling
- All Defeat Wrestling
- All Effete Wrestling
- All Reheat Wrestling (this is a burn on them using WWE guys)
- All Retreat Wrestling

Any of these could've worked, but I do like 'All Effete Wrestling' the best.

It's also not like Fuego hasn't been on TV at all, he's been in these random segments where he gets his rear end kicked by Andrade et al. Any other gaps that needed filling should've been filled by seeing his win loss record and hearing the crowd reaction to everything.

Ruby wins via DQ, it's a bit of a cheap out, but Hayter doesn't really lose and you avoid booking Ruby to lose twice.

I would rather see: Britt gets Rebel to interfere, despite Jamie not really needing it, the interference distracts Jamie more than it hurts Ruby, leading to Ruby winning but Jamie having an excuse that pushes the Britt v Jamie storyline forward.

God, Jon Moxley must cry himself to sleep at night with how he's booked. Wrestling whoever he wants, doing the G1 any time he likes, alternating matches against New Japan legends with a feud with Nick Gage. He must long for the Bane jacket, the gas mask, and the butt injections.

He was the top champ for about a year, only got pushed just under that so Kenny Omega of all people could have a reign, only ever loses by screwjob, gets to wrestle all the talent from New Japan he asks for, wins all his matches...

All after the alternative was The Crowd is Stinky and maybe he would win one of the cursed midcard belts if he was lucky.

BTW I hate people going after "casuals". That's not a real thing. If you watch wrestling and start to like it you are no longer a casual fan. You're just a fan. And if you're a fan who stops watching you don't go back to casual. You just aren't a fan anymore.

It's like saying "AEW actually sucks because I mean how many unicorns have they gotten to start tuning in?"

Especially in 2021. The effects of cultural diffusion are such that everyone can get an unlimited amount of what they like. Nobody channel surfs any more, nobody flicks past a wrestling show and it catches their eye for a moment and they decide to keep watching. The wrestling audience is wrestling fans. If you want to expand that audience you have to make more wrestling fans, not appeal to the mythical casuals.
