Hmm. I've just been invited to a 'FINAL FANTASY TYPE-0 HD' movie marathon.

"Square Enix will be screening a selection of classic movies in which gifted young people must endure the horrors of battle and survive in the deadliest of circumstances."

1pm – The Hunger Games
3:30pm – Tomorrow, When the War Began
6pm – The Faculty
8pm – Battle Royale

Pretty crummy lineup tbh.

Yeah, for a 2010 movie based (of course) on a book from '93 the title is golden age SF as gently caress.

It also sounds boring as hell, the synopsis I read basically paints it as "red dawn, but Aussies and aliens instead of the US and Russia"

I've seen them both before and I doubt the experience will be improved by sharing a room with a bunch of unwashed Final Fantasy nerds.

Does anyone know how The Cobbler ends. The reviews say the ending just takes what little good will someone might have for the movie and throws it out the window and that makes me curious (though not curious enough to want to actually see it obviously). I suspect it's something like it turns out the entire movie has been his grandfather or father or whatever relative is missing living his life through the Adam Sandler characters shoes or some bullshit but I just want to know just how bad it is.

I've been watching Kamen Rider W from the beginning because some dude retimed the good subs to go with pretty new 720p bluray rips and this is easily the best show. Most Riders just have a motorcycle. This show has a rider who turns into a motorcycle. That's clean and rad and powerful.

Yeah he gave her the option of continuing it if she wants to. No obligation though as far as I've heard.

So as far as notable deaths this year, we have Monty Oum (if you want to count him), Leonard Nimoy, Harris Wittels, Sam Simon, and now Terry Pratchett.

Seems to be pointing at nerdy creative types. Please for the love of God let this not be the year we lose Stan Lee. :smith:

I wish I could remember which director it was being interviewed, but there was a great nugget of detail they gave about needed to specifically instruct casting people to get crowds of roughly 50/50 men and women. Otherwise the groups of extras would default to 80% dudes.

I remember they did a study where they grouped together, like, a hundred people or something, and if 17 of them were women, the men regarded this as being equal, and if there were 33 women, the men perceived this as being more women than men.
