There's not nearly enough love for Mutant in this thread. In fact, I'd say its on par with Buffalo Rider as the funniest VOD they've ever done.

I'm gonna have to disagree. After a solid first half or so, the jokes felt less frequent and funny, aside from maybe the whole McRib chomping the brother bit which is in the preview video anyway.

I've been thinking about picking up Jack The Giant Killer for a while, especially since years ago, me and an old roommate saw a bit of it on cable and remarked that it seemed like perfect material for a riff. Is it any good?

Got the Jack and the Giant Killer Live VOD last week and I enjoyed the hell out of it. I was worried the audience laughter might make the riffs harder to hear but it really made the experience better.

Mutant definitely has it's moments: (DRAMAMINE, DRAMAMINE, DRAMAMINE! and "miiike" but I found myself very bored during long strings of the VOD.

However, it's still better than the Mesa of Lost Women.

Bring your Kendo sword out to the Aikido range, and make sure to brush up on your Katate if you're going to be our agent in the Middle East.

From the Redlettermedia review, I think Galaxy Invader's going to be my next VOD purchase.

Definitely my attitude as well. I like the Rifftrax of major movies, but the VODs of terrible old movies feel more MST3K-ish.

The Rifftrax site just got a makeover. I have to say, it's a bit of a improvement over the previous layout. Far less cluttered for one thing.

Admitting it was South Africa might have made people mad, it was the 1980s after all and there was that little Apartheid matter.

So this is the second time Rifftrax went after the "bait and switch" movie? Since the one from Podpeople got riffed as well. That's good of them to remmeber other movies if they appear in a prior movie (same deal with Batwoman and the Molepeople).

Which MST's does this leave then? I think Master Ninja's I and II are the only other ones.

Goddamn, Prisoners of the Lost Universe is a hilarious riff and an absolutely TERRIBLE movie. Every character is completely unpleasant in every way. The best part of course is the ending where the main characters are able to come back to Earth through a not explained way.

"WHAT ABOUT MY WEEEEEEEHHHHHHHHTCH!?"

Also, did anyone notice the characters swear an awful lot for no reason, especially for a movie of this genre? I don't know of any other fantasy films where the phrase "goddamn" is used so liberally.

The sound engineer (and likely foley artist) went on to do a LOT of stuff, including Full Metal Jacket and Eyes Wide Shut.

But the sound effects speak to what I commented on earlier: is this a goofy family movie (silly effects, goofy plot and acting), or is it a more serious action fantasy (multiple attempted rapes, loads of needless swearing). The whole movie is just a loving MESS.
