On a recent show Dave brought up the possibility of Nash being the booker for Raw, saying it would be hilarious to have "The worst booker of all time writing for WWE. Well, maybe the worst booker of all time was Tommy Dreamer"

That made me laugh for some reason. Poor Tommy.

Original, though he was, according to Lance Storm, a part of the committee for a long while. Raven and Lance generally disregarded his suggestions, and Tommy would pout.

It's funny, a while back when they made the double announcement of the Punk WWE DVD and the new Wrestling Road Diaries, I thought to myself, this show would be even better if Punk was a co-host. Lord knows he'd have the time once he retires, which Punk has hinted on twitter will happen soon rather than later.

Alright I might have to listen to AoW for Punk.

Do WWE guys do many podcast appearances? I know there's a show done in the UK for the Sun I think, that has WWE and TNA guests a lot.

Obviously it's not WWE's MO, but I think it would be a good thing for them to let guys do podcast appearances and stuff, let them tell their story.

I know that, for example, I didn't give a poo poo about Chris Masters before I heard an interview with him and he was a pretty cool guy.

Hell, if WWE wants to be into social media that bad, they could have Matthews host his own interview podcast or something.

The LAW used to get WWF/E guys all the time (Trish even co-hosted the show for a time, but I'm not sure if it was while she was active) and they still do get them every now and then. I think this week they have Perry Saturn on though, which should be interesting since he kind of cut himself off from society for a while.

I think TNA are more open to it as a way of trying to build loyalty by making their guys accessible. WWE has the mentality of not wanting guys to do media that's 'beneath' them because they think it'll diminish their star power or something. I'm actually stunned that Punk's not been called out for appearing on AOW in any capacity, even if it is just 'he's in the apartment when Colt's recording'.

Yeah I think guys (who are stars) who have a "gently caress you I don't need this anyway" attitude can get a lot of leeway with Vince.

They can get a lot of leeway until the day they don't, anyway.

I have the feeling guys who just cave to Vince's every whim would get no respect.

That's basically what I got from Jericho's second book. If you give it back to Vince as good as you get, and pretty much just say 'gently caress you I'm not doing that' he seems to hold you in higher esteem.

Meltzer mentioned that Vince was a whole lot more open/willing to have talent do stuff during the Monday Night Wars, but not before or after. Seems like WWE will condone it if only it has something huge to gain from it.

He may just be saying things he doesn't mean, but he seemed lucid and had a lot of interesting things to say about the business, so in the very least it looks like he's actually clear headed now, which is good.
