I'm not looking forward to The Dark Knight Rises at all (I'm putting most of the blame on Bane's costume somehow managing to look stupider than his luchador getup), but this actually makes me want to see that movie.

The word comes from the Greek words for "life" ("bios") and "to observe" ("skopos"). I guess it's where you go to observe life.

In South Africa it's referred to as a Bioscope. My dad still calls it that sometimes only to get very confused looks by people who have no idea what that is (I doubt anyone in South Africa still refers to it as such except for the older generation).

I was at a theater in Burbank and I overheard one employee explaining to the other that someone had to pay the theater to put that poster up, unlike all the other ones. Craptastic vanity project I guess?

I know a few of us were going crazy with hating on the Dark Knight Rises posters and banners, but they could always be worse, like with this poster for Black Mmail. No, that's not a typo. The extra M is probably for manliness or something.
