You can't actually get it anywhere outside of Chicago, and from what I've heard, even finding it INSIDE Chicago has been rather difficult lately. Half Acre, why can't you be one of the breweries with million dollar expansions right now?

I actually looked at several stores in the past few days (not specifically for Daisy Cutter) and I was shocked that I hadn't seen it anywhere, outside of one random store that had a single four-pack jammed way in the back of the refrigerator. Weird. edit: Anyone in Chicago seen Boulevard Love Child #2? For nearly the entire first year of their existence, Half Acre didn't distribute to any place south of the Eisenhower Expressway (separating the north and south sides of the city). So half of Chicago couldn't get their stuff. Now it's spotty to find it anywhere... I had their Akari Shogun on the 4th. It was okay. A bitter wheat beer. I personally prefer Gumballhead or Summer Love as superior examples of the style.

Philly is an interesting city for beer. I've found all sorts of stuff there. It's like some kind of alternate dimension of beer - Pliny, Pizza Port's Old Viscosity and Mongo, Foothills' Sexual Chocolate, Heady Topper, Marshal Zhukov from Cigar City. Positive Contact is the Deltron 3030 (Dan The Automator) one. Creme Brulee is all over the place in DC/NOVA now and I know I'm one of the very few people on this thread who doesn't dislike the beer (I don't go gaga over it either though). Managed to run across more Parabola here as well, but I've been blowing so much money on beer lately... compounded by the crazy weather forcing me to replenish normal food in the fridge means I'll have to cut beer spending back over the next couple weeks. Doesn't help that I finally made it up to Adams Morgan when I was showing a visiting friend around, and saw the crazy special at Smoke and Barrel

I have been trying out some of the micro-in-a-cans lately. Yesterday was Dale's Pale Ale from Oskar Blues, and I enjoyed. Good sharp hop flavor with a clean finish, low on the maltiness. Anyone have some other cans to recommend? RE: 21st Amendment Bitter American, I bought this initially because the chimp on the front looks like GWB, and ended up liking it a lot. I here you other posters with it's lack of malt, but I guess I expect bitters to be pretty light. English style bitter can be quite low ABV. Either way, one a cold one of those on a hot day is amazing.

21st Ammendment's Monk's Blood is a killer dark belgian. Their Hell or High Watermelon is great if you like summer wheat beers - it tastes like a biscuit-wrapped watermelon rind. Sounds gross, I know, but it's terrific.

I have tried them both and think they are great. The Watermelon is a little odd at first, but drat refreshing on a hot day.  Not something I can drink more than one of in a row though.

Take a look at New Belgium's Shift and Avery's Joe's Pilsner. I'd describe both as floral and crisp, and they come in cans. I'd be shocked if Ska doesn't distribute up there, so look out for Modus Hoperandi. OB and Ska are the main breweries I regularly pick up cans from. I haven't actually tried Anderson Valley's beers out of a can, but I liked them on draft and I believe their IPA and amber are canned. Maui's Coconut Porter is also good, but it sounded like you're not really into malt.

Have not really tried anything new lately because I can't stop buying Sixpoint Apollo every time I head over to the beer store. Hot drat it is just the best hot weather beer ever, I like it much more than Victory Summer Love (and yes, I realize that aside from seasonality there is not much else comparable between the two). Also had some Founder's Double Trouble over the weekend and found it to be fantastically easy-drinking for a 9.4% beer. Was this the beer that gave people the Onion-y Summit vibe or was that Devil Dancer? Either way, I got nothing but nice citrusy aroma with a nice slightly sweet malt background.

Vortex is excellent and can easily be found in Portland. Boneyard's RPM IPA is also quite good and is on tap at a lot of bars around town. Be sure to go to the Deschutes brewpub and order the XPA. It's a bit like Red Chair, but even better IMO. They used some experimental hop variety in it that is just fantastic. Lots of citrus and floral notes.

Canned Corona and bottled Corona taste and smell the same. I just poured one of each. I have never had it on draft, though. They must have some form of intentional UV exposure before canning.

I knew a guy who swore that it used a Tetra Hop type of hop extract, but I've never heard that other than that one statement and my experience indicates that it does in fact taste skunky, which is why you use a lime.

They don't use any UV-stabilized products that I am aware of. edit: just opened my first Devil Dancer. Holy gently caress. This is definitely the hoppiest goddamn beer I can remember drinking. The bitterness just goes on and on in the finish, too. I can taste it on the exhale and feel it in my nostrils. Christ. It's like Palate Wrecker times two. I feel like I just ate a hop bine. Not much citrus/banana/funk, but a good body and easy drinking. I had some people who dislike beer (but like blue Moon) try it and now they want to go to the brewery.
