Doesn't look like it, though Googling "Sexpendables" brings up someone's tweet about it being a gay porn movie (which is much more accurate): "The Sexpendables starring: Sylfister Stallone, Gayson Statham, Jet Pee, Dickey Rourke, Dolph Longgroin"

Sense and Motion posted:Kiimo, would you mind expanding on this? Have you seen or heard something about Nolan that lead you to this conclusion, or are you assuming this is the case because directors usually get burnt out when dealing with similar material three times? Well, he has made five movies - of increasing scope and budget - over the last seven years, working pretty much non-stop, and capping it with what seems to be his biggest movie yet. Five movies in seven years, when all but one of them cost over $100 million will take a toll on a guy. That's a lot of responsibility, and a lot of time spent with minuscule sleeping hours. Dude's probably going to announce he's taking a year off after this (which basically will mean: "I'll poke my head in on Man of Steel stuff, maybe suggest some tweaks in the edit, but gently caress if I'm going to get involved personally"), or at least take a real long time to develop his next project. Which is going to be hilarious since everyone already wants to know what his first truly post-Batman project's going to be.

When they announced the third installment would be the last one for Nolan people weren't really surprised. It is a huge undertaking and like posted above me he's been working nonstop. That was before this whole marketing campaign, Comic-Con and the upcoming publicity tour that is happening soon. I'm not saying he's burned out or anything, just that nobody can keep pace like that forever no matter how much you love it.

I can't find him either, and that just plays further into my strong suspicion that Li's character is going to bite it early in the movie. I recall the only clip of him in the earliest trailers was from the first movie. I assume the new young Asian chick is related to his character's absence. Although maybe they'll pull a Lundgren for this one too and he'll show up alive and well after the climax.

Hey, remember the mid 90's when athletes were suddenly all over the place, recording lovely albums and appearing in lovely movies like Deion Sanders, Shaq O'Neal Dennis Rodman and Michael Jordan? "So what does that have to do with the price of milk?" you may be asking. This is why I brought it up:

It's Liam Hemsworth in Expendables. The closest Hemsworth has been to action is Hunger Games, and he doesn't do poo poo in that movie.

One thing I do like about this is how long the title is on a single line. Any other movie and they would've put the subtitle beneath. Probably harder to parse for any regular person passing the poster, but its kinda neat.

Many actresses have a career strategy which begins with them as the pretty face in schlocky action movies just as a way to get their foot in the door, which hopefully gets them enough visibility to eventually enable them to score some of the very few well-written female roles that exist in industry. Kate Beckinsale took the inverse path.

I don't think the RE movies are much of a black hole, really. I feel like only a very small portion of the general population actually watches them, it's just that that small portion watches them very consistently, so the profits are easily predictable. Maybe I only think that because I too have never watched any of them.
