Not going to Soundwave, just shy of $200 for a festival? Blergh from me. I had a great time going to the Kvelertak/Gojira/Mastodon sideshow and Thursday's last headline show earlier this year.

Bands I want to see at a Sidewave; Kyuss, Cancer Bats, Shai Hulud, The Lawrence Arms, Lucero.

Also, new Propagandhi is brilliant.

hosed Up got added (along with Slayer and a bunch of other bands). Maybe Pink Eye wasn't joking last year when he said be was moving to Australia.

Pennywise just cancelled their tour; I wouldn't care but it means no Menzingers.

Did anyone preorder the new Smith Street Band album? I'm waiting to pick it up at their next show.

I like how most of the songs on that album go with their gimmick. Some of them don't, but it is overall a catchy pop album. :)

Anyone here into Single Mothers? They put out two EPs in the past year or so, they're pretty great. Kinda like a more emo Suicide File but instead of songs about hating republicans they do songs about pills, bad hookups and pregnancy scares. Very excited to see them open for Title Fight in November (more excited than I am to see Title Fight, frankly).

I actually really dig them, I've enjoyed the honesty in their lyrics. Kicking myself for not seeing them when they were in LA a few weeks ago, hopefully they come around these parts again soon.

On a better note has anyone else gone to the Punch/Living Eyes tour? It was like a vs show with a shared drum kit between the two....rocked my face off.

I think the more polished sound suits them very well, ADT Security would sound weird with the clean production of the full-length.

I am so loving excited to see Single Mothers in November. The only Title Fight song I've heard is the one they released off their new album that apparently doesn't sound like any of their older material. But Single Mothers and Pianos Become the Teeth are enough to get me to drive out to CT for the show.

I'm really digging the new Teenage Bottlerocket album. It's stupid and fun, like pop punk should be.

Is anyone still following Nothing Nice To Say? It's still really accurate: http://www.mitchclem.com/nothingnice/549/

This strip basically summarizes Australia last summer, where Social D and Gaslight sold out but Social D and The Bronx were literally giving away tickets (it was still a great show).

Green Day are teaming up with Angry Birds. I should be outraged, but I like both these things and pop-punk goes good with games, as Tony Hawk demonstrates. Besides, you're already smashing the pigs (instruments of state tyranny), so Angry Birds fits Green Day's revolutionary ideals.

I've recently really got into screamo in the vein of Daïtro, Envy and Pianos Become the Teeth. Is there anything like this that has come out this year that I need to hear? I am aware of Loma Prieta's album, I.V., but that is a bit on the fast and aggressive side to the stuff that I am really enjoying at the moment, it's a great album, just not what I'm looking for.

Thanks

Try Suis La Lune, The Saddest Landscape, Caravels for bands that had releases this year. Check out the new Pianos/Landscape split too, if you haven't.

For older stuff, try Native, Gospel (more jazzy), Funeral Diner, Who Calls So Loud, Amanda Woodward (another French band that sounds a lot like Daïtro), Transistor Transistor (more punk), Touché Amoré, Life at These Speeds, Comadre. Some of these will sound a bit different but hey, you never know!

La Quiete hasn't released anything in a while (I don't think, at least) but they should be right up your alley.

They share a drummer with Raein, who usually get mentioned in the same sentence with Daitro and La Quiete anyway.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VEVDX3sJRa4

Rinoa isn't really in the same mold, but they do take a lot of cues from Envy, I'd say. They're also amazing on their own merits.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zTp_pSLGVqo

None of these guys are super-current (Rinoa isn't even around anymore) but they're still my go-to for screamo.

EDIT: I dunno why I didn't think of them, but you may also enjoy Apart, who released a stupendous album this year and also have a member that posts in this very thread!

I just wanted to see if any of you had an interest in any of the old hardcore/emo/screamo/etc records I'm selling on eBay. Most of them are from the late-90's and early 2000's. I haven't touched these in about a decade so I wanna stop having to move them from apartment to apartment. Right now I have listed:

- Bane (thought they broke up 10 years ago :shobon:)
- Orchid (a few of em)
- The Swarm
- Reversal of Man
- The Locust
- pageninetynine
- Six Going on Seven
- Strike Anywhere
- Shellac
- Fragment
- Combatwoundedveteran (nobody on ebay seems too interested, if this doesnt sell send me $5 and I'll ship it to a goon who appreciates a good looking record. I can't remember if they are any good music-wise.)
- Belle and Sebastian
- Drowningman

Next time I visit my dad's house I'm gonna pick up the crate with the real golden oldies - Converge from when they were vanning it around New England, Piebald, Botch, Saves the Day, Jeromes Dream, Arab on Radar, Ten Yard Fight, and a bunch of other stuff I can't remember. My brother has a TON of crates with some OG Boston stuff (well not like 80s OG but old enough). I also was big into emo because I felt ways about stuff, that's a seperate crate but I'm sure I could dig it up. Let me know if any forums people are interested.

The point is I'm eBaying like a thousand pounds of (somewhat) New England-Centric hc stuff in the next month and I'll waive shipping for goons on items over $10. I know that's not the greatest thing ever but I'd want to hook up you guys - there are one squillion posts about this sort of music so I guess you guys are into it.
