Hell no, gonna make it into a bitchin' B class car with a bitchin' new livery.

The current A-class car (click for big):

I just can't be bothered to swap tunes - I'd rather just have multiple cars for each class I run a car in.

After finally getting around to trying the Shelby Daytona, I'm wondering what everyone's top 5 or 10 overall cars are in terms of fun? Holy god drat I love this Shelby, it's edged out the Lotus Elise 111S as the most fun car I have I think.

I'd have to say mine are
1. Shelby Daytona
2. Lotus Elise 111S
3. Mazda Furai
4. Pontiac Firebird Trans Am '87
5. Vauxhall VX220

I'm partial to the Lotus Elan and the Merc '54 300SL, 190E and the Sauber C-9, and I'd have to say any kind of newer Mustang as the absolute bottom of the dogshit barrel, but now I'm curious as to what else people are liking (also hating).

It is inevitable!
So I'm in a racing mood and this seems p good but I have a few questions.

Is the multiplayer going to be a struggle to get into for a complete newcomer after years of players buying tons of nice new cars?

Can I be competetive driving with a controller, because I am poor?

Is the single player career distinct from the multiplayer one, or can I grind out some nice cars in SP?

Yeah the Aventador is also definitely down there. It falls in with every Mustang variant after '00 in that it doesn't stop or turn, except the Mustangs don't even go forward that well either. All the Koeniseggs pretty much handle like poo poo also but at least they're fast, and the SSC Ultimate Aero I don't think has a steering wheel, you just tap the gas and hope the torque steers you in the right direction but at least there's an "oh poo poo I'm gonna die" factor

Edit: I don't mind Lambos though, the Murcičlago is one of my favorites

Slight derail...

What did folks here use to beat the Ford Classics Showcase races in the event list?

I've got a Deluxe that easily won two of the events, but on the Sebring Club Circuit, the AI Fairline just walks away on the straighter sections and I can't catch it. Using other cars for that race has the same results, so I'm curious if there's a way to beat that race without dropping the 200,000 credits for the Fairlane or nerfing the difficulty.

You could always manipulate the replay system to force the AI to gently caress up. That's what I did for the harder parts of the event list because I suck am lazy.

gently caress yes I hated that event for the AI cheater car. I just rammed him off the road when I got close enough, but it was stupid luck. (I was on the hardest difficulty)

Is there a reliable way to do this?

I beat that stupid Japanese tuner speedway series by just waiting for the AI to plow into the walls, but my observation has been that the AI messing up on a replay is basically random, especially if they're not being pressured by traffic.

Don't listen to all the idiots going on about how awful the Ford Mustangs are. Stock, they might not be so great, but they can be easily tuned for whatever you need. Heck, GTCC has an A-class spec Mustang that has no tunable parts, but is still a decent car - not dominate on any one track, but a good performer over all, and will certainly walk away from the AI in single player.

Otherwise, you can always do the MP Cycled Production, but I don't think that includes any of the DLC cars.

Plow into an AI driver going into a slow corner, then rewind. About half the time they will just spin going into the corner. If they don't spin, run into them again and just keep rewinding until they do.

If you are feeling really dickish, PIT them on a straight and then rewind it so that they spin off into the grass and flip over on their own. I did this to M Rossi every time we were on a track fast enough for it to happen. As an added bonus, on some tracks like Catalunya, the cars will almost always end up back on the track and cause a massive pileup.
