It'll definately age better than the Sonata, but I think the best looking car in that segment is the Optima. (I can't believe there's a Korean car I'd actually *want* to own.)

I'm surprised to hear about this world car thing, though. Is this true? Is it going to be sold as the Accord everywhere, or is it going to be sold as something else overseas?

They've finally gotten rid of the double wishbone front suspension and replaced it with Macpherson struts.

Ford Mondeo/Fusion wagon for Europe. Autoblog just mentioned the 1.0L and a hybrid 2.0, but if they released this stateside with the ecoboost 2.0 I'd seriously consider it. Of course I just got a new car in June and I tend to keep them 10+ years, but I really would have preferred a wagon like this.

But why the coupe? It doesn't even look that much better and it's cutting into the half the point of an Accord - it's bigger than a Civic or competing midsize sedans. If I wanted a cheap giant boat of a coupe, I'd buy a Dodge Challenger or a pony car, which actually look cool and have more power. Is it like an insurance and ownership cost thing?

Now that for most new cars the headlights exist more on the sides of the car than the front, it's hard to judge a car's look without seeing it in person or 3D. Head-on and even 3/4 shots can be misleading.

Wouldn't the segment who wants a 270+ hp engine and a manual transmission be looking at Mustangs, Genesis Coupes, Camaros, or Challengers? I understand that Americans like power so the V6 Camrys and Accords must be faster than most sports cars from a few years ago, but I don't get who would buy an Accord as a "fun car".

Edit: I have an Accord Coupe. When I got it, it was because it was 6-cyl + 6-speed (2005). I would have liked the sedan instead however. For the money it's a pretty good car, and it's not a hefty hippo like the challenger/charger/etc. Plus it gets 30mpg, 0-60 in 5.9, etc... Edit2: It is pretty small for anyone in the backseat though, kids fit ok, but adults, only for short trips. MrEnigma fucked around with this message at 21:07 on Sep 6, 2012 |

Seriously, both of those look better than the BMW F31 wagon coming out for 2014. I've already said way too much about what I think of the 6, but that Mondeo/Fusion is pretty hot too. I just hope that both are brought here and maybe people will start to remember why wagons are so great in the first place Hatchbacks are making a comeback, so it's not too crazy a notion, is it?

Strollers slide in no problem. Golf clubs, too. Compared to an equal sized SUV they won't tip over, will get better mileage, handle better as the COG is lower, and the ride quality is usually better. They can be fast and nimble like a sports car, haul everything a small pickup truck can (minus dirt, but with some creative use of tarps...), and look drat good doing it. What's not to like?
